viewing pps before burning to a cd

Unfortunately, it's not possible to know how the presentation will run on
other systems. The best advice I can offer is to shoot for slow machines
with slow CD drives. While you could probably go through a trial and error
process and get it to run pretty well from your CD drive, you just don't
have control over the machines you're distributing to.

There so many factors involved, I wouldn't be able to give you a simple
answer. Are you talking about a video with an audio track?

I just made a autorun cd and that makes things so much easier thanks to
powerlink plus.. I am finding that when I run the pps on my computer the
timings are fine ..when I burn them to cd they are off. is there anyway that
I can view accurately the timings as they will be on the cd?
i viewed it diminishing the "screen" (ctrl slide show so that I could view
it without stopping and starting )e is that closer to how the show will run
on the cd?
I would appreciate any help.
thank you

I had the same problem ( sound like everyone else on the
globe) - especially when I had video interviews inserted
on ppt pages - when on my laptop it was fine - on CD - it
was unwatchable because ( I figure) the polling to and
from the CD drive slowed things down -
could you make your autorun CD - copy the ppt to the
recipients hard drive and then run - I found that
this "cured" the problem..

is it typical that the audio runs faster then the picture? if so,what if I
record the show ,which is in color with a narration, in 16 bit and lower
resolution would that help with a slower machine?

no .. unfortunately I tend to want things perfect and powerpoint is not.. oh
well and thank you

Hello,

Even in the latest version of PowerPoint (2003), other than synchronizing
the beginning of one thing with the beginning of another thing on the same
slide, there is no other kind of synchronization in PowerPoint. The feature
for this degree of timing control is just not built into the product.

So, for example, if you want to sychronize animations , transitions and
other events across multiple slides with some kind of background sound, you
will get inconsistent results from system to system.

If this kind of cross-slide, system independent synchronization is
important to you, don't forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.
