Viewing PowerPoint on Television

M

Michelle

I created a presentation and would like to show it using
a television instead of a projector; mainly due to the
high cost of a projector. I've gotten a cable to hook
the laptop to the television.

How do I run the presenation from the program?

Thank you,
Michelle

If you've successfully displayed your desktop on the TV, you just run
PowerPoint in Slide Show mode and it will show on the TV. It really depends
on your version of Windows and PowerPoint, and the capabilities of your
video card. You have the cable. Have you connected it successfully?

Thank you, Sonia, for your reply. I have Windows XP
using PowerPoint 2000 on my laptop. I've never displayed
Windows on tv as this is a whole new thing for me. My
laptop is a Sony that I bought last year so it must be up-
to-date to do this.

I'll check the cables. One goes into the laptop and I
have three connectors for the tv --- that is where I
think my problem lies.

Thanks again,
Michelle

Are the three connectors coloured yellow, red and white? If so, the
yellow is the video connector, and the red and white are for right and
left audio channels.
