My son made a powerpoint presentation for school using 2003 version. We previewed it and it worked fine. He took it to school and the teacher showed it and there were problems. The pictures didn't show up and the slides would not change when clicked. I do not know what version the teacher had, but it was not 2003. Any suggestions to solve the problem so it won't happen again? My son said the library lady took his floppy and corrected the picture problem. Don't know what she did. I thought doing a powerpoint presentation in the 2003 version would work in earlier versions. Was it something I did wrong?

I had the same problem. Open the presentation and then select File --> Save As --> PowerPoint 97 Presentation
You'll probably have to reapply the automatic advancement of slides and some animation effects that aren't available in 97.

See my reply to your other post. Don't save as "PowerPoint 97, 2000-2000
and 95" because that will explode the size of your file and serve no purpose
since PowerPoint 97, 2000-2002 all share the same file format. When you
save to "PowerPoint 97, 2000-2000 and 95" you are saving in PowerPoint 95
format, which is uncompressed and long out of date.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions for how
PowerPoint might make it easier to author presentations that will be viewed
in earlier versions (with fewer capabilities), don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
