Viewing Picture SlideShow in Win 2000?

In WinME, I know there is a "slide show" option for images
kept in My Pictures. It's real easy to view a series of
images in a folder with just a click of the mouse.

I don't see that in Win2000. Could it have been
deactivated, some how. It's my father's computer and
somehow, he has Netscape reading all images (JPEGs in this
case)that come in to the system. Could that be the
problem? How do I change the default on that and to what
do I change it to?
thank you. nathan

There's no slideshow viewer built in to Win2k, so you can let your dad off
the hook. You'd need a third party app for that - I think there are plenty;
google it.
Re viewing images in netscape - what do you want to view them in? You can
change the default file association for jpg, gif, etc., to whatever graphics
viewer he has....if he has a current-ish version of Office, there's an image
viewer in there.

Hate to ask - I'm not real familiar with Windows. . .Where
do you set the file association so a different program
will view jpegs, etc. by default? thank you. nathan

No problem - in Windows Explorer, tools, folder options, file types. Select
the file type, then you can change the association to the program you wish
to use.
