Power point is listed in my "all programs",so I am assuming it is
installed. However,I cannot access things sent in this format.I have the works
suite CD..if I have to install it,would it be from there??Forgive my lack of
computer savy...I'm one of those newbies!

Really didn't figure it was...The message I get is "this file does not have a
program associated with it for performing this action.Create an assn in the
folders option control panel" Say what??I am cursed with only having dial
up,so if I don't infact have PP,don't think I'll bother for now.Why would it
be listed in my all programs?

Find a CD on magazine with Open Office 2 on it - you will be able to
view, edit, create and save PowerPoint files. And it's free.

Sorry Gordon,I don't understand"find a CD on magazine"...could you explain
for this newbie??Thanx

That article doesn't ACTUALLY say what the "bugs" are - he just says "there
are a lot of them". I have never had any problems with the current version
of Open Office that I didn't get with MS Office. the OO mailing list (which
is a high-volume one) doesn't contain many complaints about bugs either -
and I would have thought THAT was the first place they would have been
raised.

Anyway, how is your link relevant to the OP? Open Office WILL open, edit and
save PowerPoint files successfully, which is what the OP wanted.

Computing Magazines generally have a CD on the cover with Software on - you
should be able to find one with Open office on - it will save you a 97MB
download on dial-up!
