I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall Office 2003 (including Outlook).
When I attempt to open either my calendar or contacts I have to right click
on the icon at the bottom and then select "Open in New Window". I can't go
directly into either by selecting the calendar or contact icon. Any
suggestions - thanks in advance

What do you see when you click on either of those folders? What appears in
the right-hand pane?

My "In Box" stays showing on the right side of the screen. On the left side
I get Contacts at the top and then under the title box of "Current View" I
get the radio butoon options of Messages, Messages with AutoPreview etc.

Well, then, I'm at a loss as to explain it. If I were you, I'd start with a
new mail profile, a new PST, and copy my data from the old PST to the new
one.
