IE6 has stopped displaying images even though Show Images is set under Internet Options. It was displaying images just fine until recently.
Is there some other setting to check?

Hi Alan :-)

This us usually caused when the Temporary Internent Files are getting full. Clear them according to the following and see if it helps:

Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

PS.....it is better to post to the newsgroups in Plain Text, rather than HTML. :-)

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Jan :)

Hi Alan :-)

You do not mention the version of Windows or IE you are using, and as clearing the TIF's did not resolve the problem, here are some suggestions you can try to see if they will help:

Red X Instead of Images - Can't see or save Images/Pictures
Fuzzy Text and fuzzy web graphics

Change the DPI setting from Large to Normal and see if that helps.

I can't see JPG's or GIFS any more - red x - images missing - fuzzy
images/distorted images
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers.htm#jpg_gif
or .
http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/redx.htm

or.....................

To restore the default file association, go to
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
Download, unzip and merge the REG file, "JPE/JPG/JPEG Association Fix"
Some image/graphics programs will change file associations.

or..........

Try clearing the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and
delete offline content.)

also try...................

Pictures Do Not Show
http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/redx.htm

or.......................

Right click on the graphic you see and a pop up menu should appear. Select
"Show Picture" option.

Then, go to Internet Options>Advanced Tab
Show Pictures - check option if
unchecked to display pictures all the time.

or.............

Scroll down to this section at this link.:

Web Page Displays an Image As a Red X or Not at All (Q283807)

or...........

Allow active content to run in files on My Computer - Windows XP Service
Pack 2:

You can try updating your scripting engine. The latest scripting engine can
be found at:

For 2000 and XP go to
