Is there a way to view files and folders at the same time? In other words, when I click on a folder I can see that folder and the files inside of it?

Are you sure you aren't just talking about folder view? Open My Computer
and click the Folders button on the toolbar. You will get a tree view of
folders on the left. Click one of these folders and the contents will
display on the right.

In Windows Explorer, if you click on the folder in the left pane, you should
see the files in that folder in the right pane. Be sure the Folder button
in the toolbar is clicked so you are in folder view.

If you click the Folder button above the panes, the view will cycle thru
different modes. You can do similar with the Seach button.
Whichever one you like, leave it there - explorer remembers where you
left it unless a default has been changed in the folder options.
