Not sure how I used to do this, but has recently fomratted PC and started it
again...

I develop web sites using ASP. It used to be that if an error occurred on
ther page, I would merely see the line of code the error occurred on with a
line number and error type.

Now I get a'This page cannot be displayed... etc' page, along wth the other
information - however, it does not allow me to add a response.write to the
page to see what is going on with the code, as it will only ever show the
'This page cannot be displayed..." and not any debugging.

Not sure what I may have had installed. Am I clear on this??

OK - figured it you

as I had insatalled IIS, it also installed the iis help file website - which
was overiding show Firendly Error Messages setting....

Simply deleted that site in IIS and all is better!
