I'm running internet explorer 6.0 and Adobe Acrobate
reader 5.0. Every time I try accessing a pdf file on line
all I get is a blank page with an icon in the upper left
corner. How do I correct this.

WEZZ,

I had a similar problem not too long ago. If it was due to some kind of
corruption I'm not sure, but I un-installed it and re-installed and it
worked fine. BTW, there is also a newer free version of Adobe Acrobat
reader. This is version 6. Works fine on W98/se.and probably a multitude of
other platforms.

Download for Adobe Acrobat Reader 6

Update Acrobat Reader to a newer versions.

Hi Wezz,

What I think you should do is to un-install Acrobat. That is what fixed the
blank page that would appear when I wished to view a PDF. After having done
that, Adobe worked fine. Shortly thereafter, I installed Acrobat 6 and it
too works as designed. Sorry, I did not make my reference point very clear
in my initial reply to you.

Of course, you can always do a "repair" of IE should that prove necessary;
but for the moment try the control panel>add/remove programs>uninstall
acrobat>OK blah-blah. then re-install it, or better yet, use the link I
offered to obtain Acrobat 6 and install that instead of Acrobat 5. Check if
it works. I am doubtful that IE needs to be repaired, removed, or
re-installed.
