Since upgrading from ME to XP Professional, I don't have an "attachment" field in the upper portion of the message (with the to, cc, bcc fields). Files inserted now go into the body of the message rather than listing above. How can I add this option, or find the options available?

Hi - the OS has nothing to do with it. What version of Outlook? Are you
using Word as e-mail editor, or using Rich Text format? I can't remember
right now which one of these doohickeys does this, but I use HTML or plain
text and don't use word as email editor and don't have this issue....

If you send in Rich Text format, the attachments will appear in-line. If
you send in Plain Text or HTML, the attchments will be in a field below the
address fields and above the body.
