I just downloaded and checked out the 2003 viewer for the digital "yearbook"
that my tech club at school is doing using powerpoint. We would like very
much to use the new viewer to get the extra bells and whistles. We want to do
an autorum CD with it.
We will have a master file that links to other ppt (or pps) files which in
turn may link to yet other ppt files. The links work fine. The problem is
that I'm getting a black slide at the end of the file even though the files
were created without them and they don't show up with either powerpoint itself
or the 97 version of the viewer.
I've looked on the knowledge base and several sites, including Sonia's and
can't find anything about this. Am I missing something? How do I get rid of
the darn black slide?

The machine I'm running and creating on has PPT XP (on WinXP) and I just
loaded both viewers (in different hard drive partitions).
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint Viewer 2003 will always display a black side at the end of a
presentation file. There is no option to prevent this. One workaround is to
disable advance on mouse click for the last slides of your linked
presentations and, instead, include an Action Button on the last slide for
ending that presentation.

If it is important to you (or anyone else reading this message) that the
PowerPoint Viewer provide an option to not show a black slide at the end of
a presentation, don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS,
please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

John,

Thank you for your response. I shall certainly let microsoft know what
I think about this. (For anyone else that wants to know I think its about
tops the IQ list -- IQ being Idiot Quotient!!) Anyway, that's not your
problem and I do appreciate your response.
