HeHeHeHeHe ...
Been done ... See PhaseOne, BetterLight, and so forth. VERY high-end, VERY expensive, VERY
NICE "STUFF." However, there's a *lot* more to it than just "attaching one to my old
wooden 8x10 view camera, in lieu of the film holder."
See PhaseOne

And so forth ...
ahhh... all the more reason to do my homework (!).
Really, I'm intrigued by the idea of doing it 'on the cheap'. Part of the
beauty of my old 8x10 is that the lenses ARE soft, there's a little
vignetting, etc. etc. I would not be looking for a 'digital Sinar'. So my
thought is to remove the back, make a light tight attachment for the
scanner, and see what happens. The beauty of the HP scanner, was that I
could possibly use it as a ground glass (no, I haven't figured out how to
get the ground surface yet). That eliminates a lot of the complexity of
having to remove the back, and I don't loose the most fun aspect of the
camera - seeing the image on the ground glass.
The biggest hassle I can foresee (optimism at work) is that I still need a
PC and 120AC. Even with a laptop it's far from 'portable'.
Thanks for the links...a
