view status bar

Hi all

I would like to know why when i do a clean install and choose to "view
status bar" in some of my folders that it works fine for a while.Then after
some time like a month or so it starts to forget my settings.I choose it
again and after a few restarts it stops showing it again.
Any clues to why it behaves this way.

The Default for Windows XP is to remember the view settings for the 400
most recently used folders.
You can increase this setting
Increase Folder View Options Limit: (Line 2):

Thankyou very much for this info.
I have been curious about this for a very long time.I thought it was my
regestry getting all screwed up and have even reinstalled my system because
of this.
