"View Source" command not working

When I select View Source either through the View menu or
by right-click, nothing happens -- no error message,
nothing.

I've been through the Knowledge Base, and my TMP pointers
are going to the correct folder. There's another thing
about permissions I don't quite understand; I can't find a
place to set them.

This has happened before, and I was able to get it cleared
up somehow, but I don't remember how anymore, as it was
working for several months. I'm not sure what set it off
again, unless maybe it was moving from an ethernet
connection to a dial-up and back? Any suggestions?

Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.

Also if you have a shortcut to Notepad on your Control Panel rename it
MyNotepad.
