Liothar,
The default program is of course Notepad but if you want to change it,
do this:
Open IE and go to Tools/Internet Options and hit the Programs tab at the
top.
The first item will be HTML EDITOR... Use the drop down menu and select the
program you want to open it with... Only registered programs will be on the
drop down.
HTH.

It doesn't work. My dropdown list shows Excel, FrontPage, Word, NotePad and
TextPad. However regardless of my selection it always use UltraEdit32,
which is installed but not listed in the dropdown menu.
Liothar,
It sounds as though your UltraEdit32 has most certainly taken over the
default.. Have you thought of UNinstalling it? As a point of my interest,
what program do you want to use to edit the HTML?

I searched the Registry and found it. I replaced UltraEdir32 by TextPad.
However, I can't change to Word, Excel or notepad from the Tools/Internet
Options. I guess Ultraedit32's installation hardwired the HTML editor
option and now it's hardwired to TextPad It doesn't matter anyway since
that's what I wish to use.
