view problem with lcd monitor

in my 19" wide monitor screen i'm not able to see correct picture. It
shows all the picture widen. How to see the picture in correct view
not widen. my resolution of the screen is 1440x900.
My monitor is Viewsonic and i'm using windows XP operating system

The problem is your resolution. You are using a 19" monitor, one with
a traditional aspect ratio, but your resolution is one for a wide
monitor with a different aspect ratio.

Try setting the resolution to 1280x1024, or any other resolution you
prefer in which the width is 1.25 times the height.
 
Set your video resolution to 1,440 X 900. If your video card does not
support that resolution, you'll need to buy a video card that can.
