Press CTRL + H to just see the threads you have posted in.

Forget that. I didn't realise you were using the web interface, as you do
not have the usual sort of email address.

I suppose you're using Microsoft's USENET portal. It's terribly
ineffecient however their trying to force all USENET users to use that
anyway. You're much better off using a USENET client such as Forte
Agent and subscribing to microsoft.public.windows.vista.general.

Ahmad, he's accessing through the Microsoft website, which quite a few
people do, but the vast majority access through a usenet newsreader. There
are a few other websites that interface with this newsgroup, and you are
using one of them. One of many, but not many people here actually use them.

If you are using the web interface;
Click on Icon that appears to the right of "Sign In"
Scroll to bottom of page there is a heading titled 'Threads I have signed
into"
You should see a list of threads, check whether thread you require is logged.

He doesn't mention what site accessed and I think he means our Vistax64

Different info in the header. If you had been reading this group with a
proper newsreader you wouldn't have to guess.

Use a newsreader instead of the crummy web interface.

Setting up Outlook Express/Windows Mail to access Microsoft newsgroups

Hi, Herb.

I don't know how to do it in the web-based interface (indentified in the
headers for your message as "X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000").
In OE/WM/WLM, we can just look in Sent Items, if we have checked the box in
Tools | Options | Send to "Save copy of sent messages in the 'Sent Items'
folder".

Well it is designed by Microsoft afterall. Unfortunately my company
uses one that is based on the same crap. Edited by Indians. Nuff said.

Herb,
Assuming you are signed in as the same passport, you can open any of your
posts, and look for your name as author in the upper left corner. That is a
link to your 'Profile'. (see mine above, since you are using the web
interface) Once you open the profile you will see a link in the upper right
corner for 'Recent posts by this author'. This will show you the message you
want to find.

I can save you some trouble by posting your profile link here:
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/wn.../communities/newsgroups/en-us/settings.xmland here a link to your 'recent posts'http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/co...blic.windows.vista.general&lang=en&cr=US--Was this helpful? Then click the Ratings button. Voting helps the webinterface.http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales/help/help_en-us.htm#RateAPostAsAnswerMark L. The thing is, in the "olden days" the links for application/OS support in
newsgroups listed the Newsreader link first. These days the first listed
link is for the web interface...

"Forcing?" Not at all. Microsoft clearly prefers it, but I see no
forcing at all. Both options are readily available to people.

I completely agree. The web-based interface is awful, and it's the
worst possible way to participate here. It's far better to use a
newsreader.

I personally use Agent myself, but there are many possible choices,
including Windows Mail, which comes with Windows Vista. In fact, my
recommendation to someone starting out with newsgroups is to get
started with what is free and he already has (Windows Mail) and
explore alternatives only after he has some experience and knows more
about what features are important to the way he works.
