I have copied some digital photos from a CD to the hard
drive. When I open the folder, some of the thumbnails
show, others have just the jpeg icon. When I click on any
of them either in preview mode or slide show mode the
system becomes extremely slow. When I go to task manager,
it shows that explore is consuming 97% of the CPU time.

This only seems to occure when I copy photos from a CD to
the hard drive and then try to view the files on the hard
drive.

Help............

I saw a similar problem recently and it was caused
by a corrupted .jpg. If you have an image that will
not allow you to view it...that may be the one.

Also...if you happen to have Adobe PhotoShop
or Elements installed. Right click on a .jpg file and
choose Properties. Click the Photoshop Image tab
and uncheck the "Generate Thumbnails" button,
then click OK.

I have been able to open the files with Photostudio and
view the thumbnails as well but when I try with Windows XP
explorer, it hangs requiring Ctrl+Alt+Del or a complete
power down
