There was previously a way to select a calendar from any location (including
public folders) and have them available (or not) by selecting their check box
in the calendar view (or unselecting the check box to hide them). When I
initially connected and migrated data to Vista and Outlook 2007 (from XP and
v2003), this was still the case. Somehow I managed to "lose" the check box
for the public folder - perhaps after starting outlook when I was not
attached to the network and the public folder source was not available? - and
now I am unable to bring it back and view it side by side with my calendar.
Can anyone help me???

it the folder in the favorite folders list? if so, try starting outlook with
the /resetnavpane switch. if not, add it.

The folder was already in my favorites folder list. After I opened the
calendar from this folder instead of the primary location in the public
folders, then the calendar appeared in my calendar view along with the check
box - they came back automatically and instantly.... it seems to be working
as it did before again. Thanks so much!!

Could you please explain what happened? Is it because I opened Outllook
when I wasn't attached to the network? Is there a way to prevent this from
happening again?

it was probably the loss of network connectivity. go into the profile - on
the more options tab for the acct, enable the public folders for caching.

OK... I think I found What you are talking about here:
Tool, Account Settings, E-mail tab, change,
Change E-mail account, more settings, advanced tab,
Cached Exchange mode settings - but all three boxes are already checked for
"Use Cached Exchange mode" "Download shared folders" and "Download Public
Folder Favorites" - which probably explains why I was confused that it just
disappeared.... Is there some other place I need to set the public folder
favorties for caching?

If not, I guess I'll just have to remember how to bring it back next time....
Thanks again for your help!

that's the only option...
