Videos look blurred / have low color resolution (16 colors?)

Hi,

I installed my PC from scratch and it works like a charm.
Only videos on web pages and in email messages look
blurred and have low color resolution (like 16 colors?)

System info:
P4 3GHz 1GB, WinXP pro, all updates,
video card 1280x1024 32bit colors (OK !!!)
Win Media Player 9 and 11 have same problem.


Any clues?

Hello John,

Did you install the latest drivers for the graphics adapter on your computer
? If not, I would think thats the cause for your issues. The drivers should
be on the CD which came with your computer or you might want to visit the
website of the graphics card vendor and download the latest drivers from
there.

Hi Anando,

Thx for your help.
I installed the latest nVidia driver. It solved the issue PARTLY.
Now the administrator account has decent video but
in my Standard account the problem returns.
When changing monitor refresh 75Hz --> 72Hz --> 75Hz
I get decent video as well. But at next logon video is poor again.

I have no clue how to fix this, do you?
