Hi group,

I have a Radeon7000/Radeon VE (Family Microsoft) video card

My monitor zoom in and out or expand and shrink from time to time.
Today I scanned some photos and they where hazy.
I tried again later and the scanner was OK.

Somebody told me it was rather my video card or my monitor.

The tower ( I bought brand new) is 5 years old as is the video card.
I bought a used monitor 5 years ago.

What are the odds?

A few miles on both...You might power off, remove the card, clean the
connection tabs, they get coroded and this makes for a faulty connection.

While your at it clean the entire inside of the computer with compressed
air. Five years and it was used when you bought it means you could have a
monitor that is not long for this world. If you have a friend with a spare
monitor they can lend you try it.
