Is there any way to capture digital video through the USB
ports on either MM1 or MM2? I thought I was doing it a
few weeks ago but now I can't get the PC to recognize the
camera.

Movie Maker works with firewire connections for digital video and USB for
analog.

You could connect your digital video camera outputs into an analog
device....

Could you explain how you were doing it a few weeks ago. What is your
camcorder or camera brand and model? What capture device are you using?
