Video within a slide

PowerPoint does not limit the length of a video. Actually PPT hands off
video playback to Windows or Windows Media Player, depending on what version
of PPT you have. The only limit is your computers ability to handle the
video file.

Yes. PowerPoint (all versions) uses the MCI media player from years past in
order to maitain compatibility. Unfortunately it is limited to files of 1
Gig or smaller. However if needed, you can add the Windows Media Player
"control" or call it from a "Run" command as an action setting to handle
larger files.
