Video Upside Down

Greetings - I am running into the same problems, and have tried to run the
various solutions presented on this subject. Unfortunately, none of these
have worked. The file I am attempting to view was created using Pinnacle
Dazzle and I saved it as an mpeg. I am using an HP NC6120 Notebook, Windows
XP, 1 GB RAM.

Thanks.

You say you tried various solutions but you don't tell us what "solutions"
you tried.

Did you try converting the MPEG to WMV or AVI since Movie Maker doesn't like
MPEG very well?
Did you try simply applying the 180 degree video video effect to the clip?

The things I tried included unchecking all the codecs under Advanced - I also
tried looking for 180 degree video rotation but that didn't work either. I
believe this video is in MPEG-3.

Also, is the WMV or AVI any better a format over MPEG's for making DVD's?

Thanks Wojo for your help!

Matt

Hi Matt
The fact that the video is an MPEG3 is the likely reason for this issue.
MPEG does not work well with Movie Maker. MPEG Type 1 files will sometimes
work but that's about it.
As far as video quality goes converting to WMV or AVI will not improve
quality but shouldn't have a noticeable effect at all in the quality
especially if you convert to DV-AVI.

Dear Wojo;

I imported MPG video files to Moviemaker but they all came in upside down.
From what I gather from your conversation with mfc, I am assuming that he has
this problem too. You suggest that the problem might be the fact that
Moviemaker doesn't like MPEG files (that's the same as MPG?) and that
converting them might solve the problem. Should I try this in my case?
