video to dvd or cd

Hi I have an video camcorder and wondered what software etc I would need to
put these videos onto dvd or cd if its possible to that if anyone can help
please make it as simple as possible if thats ok as I am still not verygood
with my computerbut am learning all the time thanks to everyone in the
newsgroups that have helped me
