Hello. I have a new problem... there are light grey lines extending across the screen from every line or picture or text that appears on my monitor. I plugged the monitor into my friend's computer and it's fine. The grey lines go across the length of the screen wherever there is any information being displayed, and remain there until the screen changes in some way, at which point they are replaced by new grey lines coming from the new places with information. Any help with this is appreciated, thanks very much.

Thanks for the reply Kent. Unfortunately, I took your advice but it didn't help. Didn't notice any change. The lines are still here... if a sentence has bold text or color in it, the grey line behind it is darker, if not, it's lighter. The lines also 'bleed through' windows that I open, and move when I move a window. Any other thoughts? Thanks.

Hey im having the same exact problem with my laptop only the lines are blue and dont just come behind the letters, its all over the screen, if you get ANY help please let me know, its something that is really frustrating me

It could be you have faulty video memory, have a search for a video memory
tester to check the card/video functions. You don't say if you have built in
memory or a separate card, but a video tester should test any type.
Just another thought, if it is a card try removing and re-locating it, it
may help.

best of luck

Experiment with some of the BIOS settings such as Assign IRQ for VGA, AGP
Apeture Size, memory shadowing (off), AGP Fastwrites, etc.. If you have any
other PCI cards, try putting in other slots. Be sure video card is getting
good air flow and it's fan is working.

Hey Kent
How do I access these BIOS settings? Once there, what should I do? Sorry, I don't know a ton about computers
Thanks very much.
