I am new to Movie Maker and sure would oblige if some1 would kindly suggest
me a way to double up the speed of an imported video clip so as to occupy
smaller space.

Thanx in advance.

==================================
If you mean visually occupy a smaller space
on the Timeline...just tap your 'Page Up' key.

If you actually want to change the duration
and speed of the clip...with your clip on the
Timeline in Movie Maker

Go to...Video Effects / Speed Up Double...

Drag the Effect and drop it on the Clip...
(Be aware...if the clip has audio..you will
have alvin and the chipmunks)

Up to 6 instances of effects can be added.

if you want the clip to retain the same speed
but just be shorter...you'll have to Split it.

"Splitting A Clip In MM2.1"

Drag the video/audio clip to the
Timeline.

Play the video/audio by clicking the
"Play" button under the view screen.

You will see the Playback Indicator
(vertical line) advancing across the
timeline.

Click the "Pause" button at the point
where you wish to split and type...
Ctrl+L or click the "Split" button at the
bottom of the view screen.
(you can also make adjustments by
dragging the Playback Indicator)

Make as many splits as you want and
remove the unwanted clips by right
click / delete.
