(I posted on this some months back but didn't come up with a solution.
Reposting to see if there are any further suggestions).
I have two machines, each running nominally identical copies of Win2K
Pro with a single set of Keyboard-Video-Mouse controlled by a KVM switch.
Machine-A will boot to the normal (1280x1024 in this case) video
resolution no matter which way the KVM is switched at boot time.
Machine-B will boot to its normal resolution only if the KVM-switch is
set to the B-machine throughout the boot. If the switch is set to A,
machine-B will boot to a 640x480 screen ... not safe mode, just a low
resolution video.
I've tried swapping the machine connections at the KVM switch but the
problem stayed with machine-B so it doesn't appear to be a problem with
the switch. Moreover, it only started exhibiting this behaviour
relatively recently (last 6 months). Before that it was fine.
I can see nothing in the BIOS on machine-B that would affect this. Is
there any setting in Windows that might be causing it?
