I am in the market for a video projector and need advice on the best
resolution for presenting PP slides for the projector. If I have the slides
on my computer at 1024 AX 768 does the projector need to have the same
capability or will 800 AX 600 work on the projector?

Thanks.

IC,

Powerpoint will display whatever graphics you have at your "desktop"
resolution (unless you are using ppt 2002/xp).
The projector can only really work at one fixed resolution (e.g. 800x600 or
1024x768 or higher) depending on how much you pay.

The ideal situation is to run your PC at the same rez as the projectors
native resolution. e.g. both at 1024x768 or 800x600
Problems with the quality of the projected image occur when the projector
does an "scale" e.g. the projector can only handle 800x600 but your PC is
set to 1024x768 (some something has to give!).

Naturally the higher the rez the better the quality of the image. More rez
costs more $$$
