video player that will stream video instead of downloading first?

looking for a video player that will stream/buffer video instead of dowloading first and
then playing it

only windows media player 9 and realplayer will stream avi, mpg

players i tried that don't stream

Then you have a setting messed up...

I use windows media player 9, real player 2, quicktime 6, and winamp 666. All free, all
stream without downloading first.

My problem is finding something other than movie trailers to watch! for free...
I can't see paying cable tv prices to some net company for movies I don't like.

VLC media player biggest selling point is the ability to stream video. I
never use this feature. I got it because it can play dvds in any region.
