I have a refurbished 9600 Pro. I just bought it for a two monitor setup to
exetend my Windows XP desktop.
When I launch an Windows Media Video file or a Real 10 file I can't drag
the video from one monitor to the other. The picture goes black. Is there
some setting to adjust? Did I get a bad card? I am running two LCD analog
17" monitors at 1280 x1024. So far everything else seems OK?

That is normal for ATI dual monitor cards. I have a AIW 9600XT and get the
same results. The word I got is that in my case the TV function of the card
only works on the Primary display. Never got a good explination why this
happens. My guess is that the device drivers cause this problem.

Maybe I'm not being clear. I don't have anything connected to the TV out.
Streaming video files seem to work from the monitor that they are launched
from. Once I try to drag the REAL 10 player, or the Windows Media embedded
file to the other monitor, while the video file is playing, it goes black.

I'm glad to hear that you think my card is OK. Apart from this odditiy, I am
happy with it. Thanks for the response.

I understood your question. I was talking about the television function of
my 9600XT which runs in a window and not the TV out function. If I drag the
TV window from the Primary minitor to the Secondary the TV window is black
also. Like I said tech support said that the TV window only works on the
Primary monitor.

Hi

This is a problem which is common to both ATi and nVidia cards. With
nVidia cards there used to be a video mirroring option, but after DX9
came out they disabled this and now no longer support mirroring video
overlays on more than one monitor. It may have something to do with DX9
Video Accelerator support, which may stipulate this behaviour.

My two cents.
