video pauses every 10 secs

I notice that after capturing video and playing back that about every 10
seconds or so the video stops for a moment and then continues. I was watching
an 18 minute clip and it did this throughout. What could be the problem?

Is this on your saved movie?
Is it always in the same place?
If so, it indicates dropped frames.
When capturing turn off all other apps, and see here for more advice on fine
tuning your pc for easy video capture.

If not it could be a low pc spec problem not keeeping up with the video
stream.

Yes its in the saved movie, and I've noticed it in a couple of other
projects. It's pretty consistently every 10 seconds or so. I'll check out the
tutorial and see what I can do from there
