Video OK but no sound with TV Capture Card and Windvr

I have installed a Video capture Card with a TV Tuner on an XP Pro system.
Drivers OK. Input to the video card is a TV-cable. Included was the SW Windvr
(I have also tried Windvr3.0) to present the TV programmes. Video is OK but
no sound (just noise). LineOut on the Video Capture card must be connected
to LineIn on the sound card which in my case is integrated on the mother
board( Sigma tel Audio Codec). Windvr accepts video input from the video
source and audio input from the soundcard source e.g. Line In. On Setup
Windvr hence lists the available options on the system. Correctly for video
but with audio, Sigma Tel is recognized but none of the inputs (Line In,
Microphone etc ) are listed. So the problem appears to rest with the
extraction of sound data by Windvr (as the drivers for Sigma Tel Audio are
upgraded and all other sound applications work). Going directly from the
LineOut of the Video capture card to speakers gives no result.

I have seen some problems reported with Windvr but no solutions. The
original supplier, Intervideo, cannot be reached and I find no support for
the software which however seems to be widely used. If anyone has a solution
or a suggestion for a different programme than Windvr to test and possibly
use the HW please let me know

The way I connected mine Zogis 330 TV Tuner Card was coaxial cable to
the video in on the Zogis Card. A jumper connector provided with the Card
from Zogis Audio Line out to Sound Line in on my Motherboard. Earphones or
Speakers connected to Sound line out on the Motherboard. That configuration
worked fine as far as Sound goes. Video was awful.
