I've got a new Radeon 9200 video card a new machine using XP Home.
I've got 1 old DOS application that I NEED to run, but when I open
that particular application, the text on the screen turns to junk. I
tried the "compatiblility" options, doesn't help any.
I've had this same card running under W98SE before upgrading
to XP, and have had 2 different monitors, all with same result,
jumbled text. It's the latest driver. It all worked fine with the
old Diamond Viper 770 card.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Bonnie

Get whiz Bonnie ... I run the 9200 and a couple of old DOS applications.
While I do not have a silver bullet for you I can tell you how I run them.

I set the BIOS to initalize in the AGP slot not the a PCI slot. I run them
from the A drive using an old windows ME boot disk.

I have not tinkered with using a .PIF file as I only run them once a month.

Most likely the old dos program wants to use a video mode the radeon
doesn't support.

Either upgrade the program or run it on the old machine with the old
video card.
