I have created a ppt presentation with a 17 minute mpg video. On some
computers during the middle of playing the video the ppt will ?rewind?
start over from slide 1. Usually about 5 to 8 minutes into the video.
On other systems it works fine. I have tried the regedit MCI32
solution as stated by Austin Myers. This worked on a stand alone pc.
When tried on a networked pc I still have the same problem. Any
solutions??

I suspect you're running the slide show in Kiosk mode (under Slide
Show/Setup Show), and this is what's causing the rewind.

In PPT 97, 2000, and 2003, the default reset time for kiosk mode files is 5
minutes. In PPT 2002, this setting was broken, so kiosk mode never resets
itself to slide one in that version.

This could explain why the file is fine on some systems -- those have PPT
2002 (aka PPT XP) running -- but doesn't on others.

Chirag has a kiosk assistant add-in that may help with the problem.
