Toshiba Tecra M3 had lcd replaced with used lcd screen taken from same
model. Now display is larger than screen, goes off the edge as if
video controller is attempting to display on lager screen. Display is
set to 1024/768 but display is large and goes off the screen. LCD
screen that is now on computer worked fine on laptop it was removed
from (victim of being drenched by coca cola). The detail is find and
check of display settings indicates that video card is set to 1024x768
resolution. Any ideas what could cause this?

you could try uninstalling the graphics driver and reinstalling with the
latest.

There is no surprise that most if not all images from current digital
cameras are much larger than screen size. But no image should go out of
whatever maximum displaying area of any graphic viewer.

IOW, you just tell the graphic viewer to display MAX size then no image
can go pass the MAX size of whatever size the monitor may be. So, it sounds
like there is some important thing that you do not tell (?)

Put lcd back in coke-spilled machine, rinse it out with clean water,
open up any closed spaces to allow dryout, leave 1 week in warm
room.

Machines of same model dont always have same resolution
screen, what happens if you go to display adaptor properties and
reduce screen resolution?

How much does the image go off the screen? Just a tiny bit
like it might've had a different sized bezel around the
screen on the other model, or quite a lot?

Check display properties for screen adjustment settings.

Are you absolutely certain there is only one type of panel used on
those laptops ? It could be that the panels have different
native resolutions.
