Does anyone know how to get rid of choopy graphics in
gameplay? I never had this when I had windows 98, but
when upgraded to xp, they occur. I built a new system,
Athlon 2700xp, asus A7N8X deluxe, with current drivers,
80 gig hd, 512 mb ddr memory, Radeon 9700 pro, latest
drivers and 350 power supply, Antec. Windows up to date
as well. The choppy graphics still occur. Months later
I switched my power supply to an Antec true power 550
watt and put in an Asus Radeon 9800 XT, sweet card I
might add, and the graphics in my games are still choppy.
I play Unreal Tournament, Jedi Outcast, UT2003, and
Unreal2:The Awakening. Don't get me wrong, graphics look
good, rich and colorful, all games with latest patches
and have played with all resolutions and color depths.
Can someone help me end this nightmare? I added more
memory as well, it did not help? Techs I have talked
don't know. I know people with similar system as me, but
have no problems and play some of those games. I am
looking at an Athlon64 or FX down the road, maybe that
will help, going to do it regardless. Thanks for any
advice. Increasing 12v output, will that help I wonder
or something in windows?

do you play online when you play these games? if so, your
internet connection could be causing the choppiness
instead of video graphics or anything else.

aside from that, is everything connected correctly? do
you have the latest directx (though i dont think this
will be a problem if windows is up to date like you say
it is)? is your ram in the correct slot(s)?

from the sound of things, you have your own version of
gamespy.com's ultimate game machine (lucky dog :P), and
the articles i read about it said that most newer cards
now need to be hooked up to the power supply, so check to
make sure that isn't the problem as well.

otherwise, i'm not sure what to tell you. let me know if
any of that helps, though. I can be reached at my email
more often than not. Later, and good luck :)
