Last year I loaded XP on my home computer. I did this by
replacing the hard drive and reloading all programs. Note
AOpen AX59 Pro Motherboard with VIA MVP3 AGP Chipset.
Maxi Gamer Video Card.
Everything worked fine until the Video Card went bad.
I purchased a new card - an ASUS Radeon 7000 64 mb AGP
video card and plugged it into the motherboard. XP
refuses to identify the ASUS nor the monitor. XP instead
defaults to the non plug-and-play VGA setting.
Out of curiousity, I re-installed my old hard drive / OS
(Win 98) and checked to see if it is able to identify the
ASUS. It did with no problem.
Can anyone help me with this? I have tried the following:
- loaded new VIA drivers for card, AGP to VGA Controller,
and VIA chipset (from VIA website).
- pulled out all cards and booted in XP.
- loaded new XP on new hard drive with only the video
card.
Still same results.
Thanks for your help.
