Insert, yes -- synchronize, not really.
You can start the video and the text (with timed delays for changes) at the
same time, but you can not force the two to stay in sync. The problem is
that PowerPoint hands the movie off to the operating system and asks,"Would
you please play this?" The operating system plays the movie in a window
above the presentation, but does not tell PowerPoint about the progress or
any problems with the video. Therefore PowerPoint does not know where in
the video things are. So if the movie is paused/delayed/errors, the text
animations will continue unabated and unaware.
To fix this, I would incorporate the text directly into the video using your
video editing software. This way the text will stay exactly synced with the
movie because it is part of the movie. If you do not have a video editor,
then you may want to look at Windows Movie Maker. It is available for free
download from Microsoft. and may already be installed on your computer.
