I wrote a PP2003 presentation and inserted videos, all worked. Desk top
computer with Windows media center. I copied presentation to an external hard
drive connected to same desk top. All worked. I then connected ext hard drive
to laptop with PP203 and Vista. Running slide presentation, many videos work,
most do not.
Help

Did you put the vids in the same folder as the presentation BEFORE you
inserted them? Vids are always linked and it sounds like the link path is
broken.

Sorry, missed the Vista reference.

Question: Are the videos that don't work WMV files and the videos that do
work AVI?

On the Vista machine you will need to install the required codecs. Of the
packages out there I would recommend the "Vista Codec Pack". A Google
search will turn up many places to download from.

I have a video converter so I tried all kinds. That's what is puzzling.
Everything is in the same folder. I've deleted videos and inserted them,
nothing worked. You wrote a second reply about visiting a website that
converts videos and is supposed to always work in power point. I went to the
website, talked to a chief engineer who wrote the program. I am going to get
a free download and tryt it out.

Thanks to all who have suggested fixes for this problem. I went to the
website, plays for certain and downloaded their free trial. It worked!!! I
even spoke to an engineer from the company and he explained what it would do.

I am not that sharp with software so I did not look for codecs for vista to
download, but I did delete and reinsert videos, all in the same folder, but
nothing helped. I made sure the path length was short too. Highest regards
for all your help
