We would like to put video clips of clients on our website for casting
directors to view. I think I understand how to add separate password
protected folders to up load the files.

My Digital Video camera takes MPEG video to a MEMORY STICK. This file
transferred as a *.MOV file. When I uploaded it, the file appeared to
download in its entirety prior to running.

Is there a way to get the video to start while finishing the download?
Perhaps another format? Any directions to convert?

I use the software that came with the DV camera - SONY IMAGEMIXER

TIA - new to this.

Check out quicktime.apple.com. There should be some tools there to get a
quicktime movie to stream, though they may make you pay for them. If you can
get the original MPG onto the memory stick, you can convert it to a Windows
Media file using the free MS tools at www.microsoft.com/windowsmedia/ or a
Real video file using the free tools at www.real.com. Both of these formats
should be able to partially stream over http.

Hope this helps,

I looked around at both sites, but wasn't sure which product you referred
to. (LOTS OF OPTIONS - but I did not see a program to convert files to
another format...or do they all do it?)
