Are you asking how to determine what
the thumbnail for the video clip will be?
It's the first frame in the clip.
You can do a capture of any frame in the
video using the "Take Picture" option (looks
like a camera just below the view screen).
Or use any other picture...it does not have
to be from the video clip.
Your capture would need to be the first
file on the Timeline.
Make sure there is no 'Fade In' effect on the
first picture...if there is your thumbnail will not
display the picture.
