I was looking for a freeware video editor, and this seems quite good --
http://www.thugsatbay.com/software/index.html

Does anybody know any positives or negatives about this one? It
doesn't appear on any spyware databases that I've tried.

(I cleared off an instance of Alexa that AdAware found on my machine,
but it's been a week or so since I swept for stuff, so that may well
have come in on the tails of something else.)

More likely the Alexa reference was in your registry and came with
Windows. That's the way it was on my machine. Removing that reference
hurt nothing on my computer.

It's been around for a while. Is even listed at the Snapfiles site:

and I've never downloaded any spyware from them. I've got the program,
but never have needed to use it so far. Heard good things about it though.

Bit of a learning curve. I have not had much time to paly with it. I
am not a bit fan of the GUI. I need to make time to goof off with it
more, but work is getting a bit overwhelming :)

Gotta pay the bills!

One thing I discovered about it is that, like many software programs, they
assume that you already know everything there is to know about editing
video. I couldn't figure out how to make it work.

Yeah, it looks complex to me, too, but I managed to do some simple
tasks and it seems to have a lot of room for playing around.

You're right - it's not open-the-box intuitive. I managed to do a
couple of simple tasks with it, though (even trimming a clip meant
working sort of backwards, at least to my way of thinking), so I'll
probably play around with it a bit to see what I can learn to do.

I cleared Alexa out some time ago, but I've also recently tried-and-
deleted a couple of other new programs; god knows what it tailed in
on. Good to hear that it's not likely to be this program, though.

Thanks; it looks worth keeping for a trial run.
