I have installed Win XP. Used to use XP Home. Now
Microsoft's automatic update wants to install an
inappropriate driver for my video card, and I have to
correct it. I know that I can review the details of the
update and refuse it, but is there anything I can do to
prevent Microsoft from continuing to send it?

Jack,
This driver matches your video card..... why do you think it is not correct?
Thanks,

When I boot, I get an error message stating that the
driver cannot be found. When I go to the device manager
and rollback to the previous driver and reboot, the
message disappears. I also have downloaded the driver
from the manufacturer and keep it in a separate folder for
reinstallation.

Go to the web site of your video card manufacturer and get the latest driver
from them. They are more up-to-date than what you'll find on the Microsoft
WindowsUpdate site.
