Video display during PP presentation

I have incorporated video clips into a Powerpoint 2000
presentation. When I hook up the laptop to an LCD
projector the text on the slide appears and the video
plays properly on the projected screen, but only the text
shows up on the laptop screen. The video does not appear
on the laptop monitor. How can I get the video to appear
on the laptop monitor while it is playing on the projector
screen.
