Video Controller Drivers (VGA Compatible)

B

Bruce

I recently re-installed windows 2000 on a friend's
computer after he had some issues with it. After doing
so, the display seems to be affected. In the display
settings there is only one option available for the colors
(16 colors) and this makes everything look very ugly. I
went to the Device Manager, and there is an exclamation
mark over the Video Controller (VGA Compatible) of the
Display Adapters. I clicked to re-install the driver, and
using the "Upgrade Hardware Device Drivers" wizard I
searched Microsoft Windows update for the appropriate
driver. After I click next, I receive a program
error "mmc.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
windows. You will need to restar the program. An error
log is being created."
The computer in question, is a Hewlitt Packerd Laptop
running Windows 2000 Professional.
Thank you,
- Bruce

Bruce, this is the wrong news group BUT go to HP's website and download and
install the right video drivers....

You just have bad display drivers, then all will be right with the world.
