I have tried several times to add short, very short 15 seconds, to our web
site. This latest one of 15 seconds takes over two minutes to down load on a
T1 line.

Is there any where I can get some good advise about how to make them load
faster?

Thanks.

You do not mention at all what format your clip is in, that would have
helped people here... help you.
Depending on that format, 15 seconds may not be short. The length time wise
has little to do with the speed of downloading and playing a file. I can
assume you are trying to post a 15 second TV commercial made for YMCA and
you want it available on the web?

You need to change the format of the file. MS has a free tool that will
allow you to do this:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx

With this tool, you would choose New Session, Convert a File, pick the
source file and output file (new name it would be saved under), then choose
Web Server (progressive download). Lastly choose the type of quality you're
looking for, High Def, DVD, VHS, or low bandwidth quality. These selections
help you determine the size of the eventual file. DVD or VHS might be your
best bet.

Hope this helps,

Not sure about your ping message. I will try the other tools you mentioned.

The format is avi.

What that means Gene is send me an email (ping for short) to the email
address I provided in text, in the message. A person writes the email
address out as I did as one way to keep spam tools from capturing the email
address.

I figured if you needed help you'd want to email me privately instead of
going back and forth here in the newsgroup. The email address I use for this
forum doesn't get read often.
