When I try to play a video clip in Microsoft Windows Movie Maker 2, some
video clips play back more quickly than I expect, and the sound play at a
higher pitch than I expect. I downloaded and installed the most recent
version of WinDVD but it didn't solve the problem.

Seems like you're trying to use MPEG-2 files. Here's my standard response:

It is far easier to convert the MPEG-2 files to AVI files, and then use the
AVI files in Movie Maker, than it is to try to work with the MPEG-2 files
themselves - reported success is rare.

For some ideas about how to convert, see the Importing Source Files > Video
MPEG-2, Discs, and Recorded TV pages of my website at www.papajohn.org

If they are not MPEG-2 files, what are they?

They are not MPEG files.
I captured from video device "Samsung duocam SCD6040". Then 3 video clips
were at normal speed and 3 others were at fast speed.
Also I bought a new and cheap firewire cable, could it be the cable quality ?

The firewire cable quality won't matter if it works.
I think the point about re-installing windvd was what threw papajohn, as if
you weren't capturing mpegs, why would you need to re-install this app?
So you have captured dv-avi files from the minidv tape section?
Have you installed any other dvd playing apps, video editing apps, codec
packs etc, as this may be causing the trouble.
