We recently took a few small videos 20 seconds each with our Fuju S7000
digital camera. When I import them to WMM the speach is broken up...It
dosent run smoothly. Using the play back on the camera it is fine and when
it is directly connected to the PC viewing under Windows Media player is runs
great too. What am I doing wrong??

I'm no computer nerd, but maybe it has to do with how much your computer can
process. Like I know with my computer if I download a video from my DV
camera onto my computer, and have the video type as AVI, then it's all
jittery and the video and audio is broken up. But hey, what do I know.

The specs for camera that I'm seeing online indicate it takes video as
Motion JPEG files.... if they don't work well in Movie Maker, you'll need to
convert them to another AVI file using another compression codec.... can you
do it with the ImageMixer software that came with the camera?

Hi Papa John,
Thank you for responding to my troubles....Thanks too Eagle. Ok I tried the
Image Mixer and there is not a place to change files from one type to
another it looks like it is just a burning software. I usually use Adobe
elements and Scrapbook and the old Adobe home 4.0 for playing with photos
before saving them. But this is different than anything I have done before.
The video clips are so clear its pretty cool except I cant do anything with
them. Could you guide me through changing the AVI files. Is it like "save
as" command?? I have changed wav files to mp3 with a converter... so
something like that. There is a download called flydragon to change AVI to
MPEG will that work?

Karen,

I don't use ImageMixer.... there's a post on the Digital Camcorders > Sony
page of my site - dated 4/28/04 - by someone saying he right clicks the
video thumbnail in Imagemixer and chooses "export as movie" > to export as
an AVI.... but he was talking about a Sony DVD camcorder.

But I was pointing out the same info to someone 2 nights ago and she said
she didn't get any menu when right-clicking a thumbnail in Imagemixer...

And I've never seen flydragon so I can't comment.... so I'm not much help.
Just wanted you to know that your situation might be one where you need to
convert motion JPEG to AVI.... hopefully someone else can help you with a
way to do it. The posts I read about it are similar to yours... good video
but problems with the audio.

Hi Karen,

Got the sample.... it plays fine on my laptop in the Windows Media Player,
as you said.

But it also plays fine as a clip in MM2.1 in the collection, and when on the
timeline and previewing it.

Maybe just defragging your hard drive will take care of the smooth playback.

Hi Again,
I replayed the file that I sent to you and you are right that plays fine,
but I reduced the file size of the origina for email. So could this be the
answer? that the file size is to large for my computer to play? What I did
was prepared the file for email and than sent it to you. What do you think?
